STOMPBOX LONDON & STOMPFEST

STOMPBOX London was created in 2021 by Sofia Pompe & Roisin Miland, initially as a way for them to connect with the London, ON music scene through a local music zine, “The Stompbox Review”. The zine featured local musicians/bands from a wide variety of genres, backgrounds and ages, and led them to throw a show (for the first time) in 2022 to launch the zine. STOMPBOX issued 5 editions of the zine between 2022-2024, and highlighted over 25 local musicians/bands and 5 local artists. The zine ended in 2024 after they discovered a love for curating and running shows and decided to put energy into that instead.

From 2022-2024, STOMPBOX London curated and facilitated 20+ shows across London ON. They booked everything hip-hop, hardcore, folk, indie-rock and various genres within that time. They also began to throw queer parties with local queer collectives HEAVEN and Late Bloomers, which would later form the MAGICAL project in 2025.

In September 2023, STOMPBOX decided to throw a 2-night festival celebrating local London musicians called STOMPFEST. The two nights of the festival, “Tough Night” and “Alt Night” saw over 400+ attendees and the festival has continued and grown ever since. The 2025 edition of STOMPFEST was a 3-night event that saw over 600+ attendees and supported local and touring bands from across Ontario.
